Personal thoughts on Topanga's "Pudding Shop" Job
This has literally been all over the internet since the synopsis and GMW series pick up broke.
At first, when I read that Topanga owned a pudding hang-out spot, I was a little surprised and dismayed, if you will, about it. Obviously they moved to NYC at the end of BMW because Topanga got an internship with the “most prestigious law firm”, and it was shocking, none the less, not to read that she was a famous attorney being successful at life because she “never fails at anything”. But then I really started thinking about it, and I feel like the only reason why she isn’t a lawyer AT THIS POINT IN TIME during the show is because she got pregnant with Elliot either before they left for NY or after. Either way, with a newborn baby and whoopsie (too much action for C&T) she gets pregnant again with Riley.
So there Topanga and Cory are, in a New York City apartment with two kids. Cory is trying to get his teaching degree, while Topanga is doing the Brown-Elliott internship (probably while also going to school), and both are raising two babies. I think it got too much for them, therefore I believe one night they were sitting down after putting the two kiddies to sleep and discussed that only one could follow their dream right now because of how difficult it is to balance school, internships, and the babies.
Because Topanga knows that in the past she has not made Cory “think highly of himself” and he has always felt “average”, she insists that she should let Cory get his teaching degree while she stays home with the kids, and she will go to law school after or when the time is right.
Topanga is Topanga and she will always be Topanga, so because she couldn’t just be doing one thing, she decides to open up an after school hang out place (kind of like Karen’s Cafe if any of you have ever seen One Tree Hill). And after years of running the place, she feels like she can’t just leave to go to law school, right now.
But, I personally believe that at some point in the series, Cory will encourage Topanga to try going back to school and get that law degree that she has always wanted.
But that’s just what I think. How about you?
You know a few months after Girl Meets World comes on (and is a hit) I'm sure a kid is gunna make a "fyeahgirlmeetsworld" page without ever having seen Boy Meets World -_____-
lolol yeah that’s quite possible. but as michael jacobs has said GMW is a “different show” than BMW. even though a lot of the little kiddies who watch girl meets world without ever seeing boy won’t get the references (even if it’s just a few) to the original series, i think this is a show that their generation needs regardless. hopefully they will get what we got from boy meets world and more. and if they like the show enough they will probably realize “oh there was a show before this” and start watching that.
and besides, i will probably put up GMW posts from now on too when the show comes on. ESPECIALLY ones of cory and topanga

The most unsettling thing about this is that if GMW goes on for as long as BMW did, there's a big chance that Bill Daniels and thus Feeny will die during it.
omfg i never thought about that. now i’m going to have to go cry in a corner for five hours. but then again bill daniels/feeny will live forever so there’s that.
When do you think we'll know if the show gets picked up or not?
hopefully soon. i mean they filmed the pilot in march… like how long does disney need to watch and decide on a half an hour episode of a show that has so much hype before it even aired. shouldn’t take too long.
but then again disney’s scheduling is so weird, they literally YOLO their schedules and premiere starts of shows or seasons whenever they feel like it.
What about Alan (William Russ), is he going to be apart of GMW?
it’s hard to say. my guess is yes and he was there at the filming of the pilot, but at this point all they have is the pilot and the only definite is bill daniels returning as feeny.
if the show gets picked up (it definitely will), then we will start to see more news about past cast members returning for appearances or cameos. :]

she couldn’t be there because she was at a friend’s wedding (according to her twitter). but she did send a video for the panel to show the fans :]
I really hope that Disney does not ruin the show.
yeah i agree but we have to give them a chance. i mean, i think they’re desperate and i don’t think michael jacobs would do anything that would ruin the show.
the thing that worries me is that disney won’t allow michael jacobs to create episodes that are about the real teenager issues like drinking, smoking, sex, etc. obviously the first couple seasons won’t address those because riley will still be young but hopefully later on they could really get into that stuff. it’s important for GMW to do that because you can’t think of another kids show on right now that has the power to really influence the kids of the generation. riley/maya/elliot are hopefully going to be characters that kids look up to, and if disney spoils that i think it could possibly move to abc family or something along those lines (disney/abc are same company so it wouldn’t be too difficult to pull off)

I know Trina McGee (Angela) had some work done, but she looks good in these 'reunion' shots. :)
yeah i think she looks great! and she’s relatively older than the rest of the “younger cast”. the biggest thing is that she still looks like herself! a little work is fine but maitland ward doesn’t look like herself anymore and i think that’s a problem (but to each is own)
Is disney going to pick up girl meets world?
i have no idea but it seems really likely simply because of all the hype it’s getting and i don’t think disney has really had a “hit show” since hannah montana (then again i wouldnt know) and need something to bring viewers back.
the thing that makes GMW so unique for disney to pick it up (its really a no brainer) is that different generations will all be watching it. obviously we will all be checking to see the “continuing story of boy meets world’ while the children of this generation are hopefully going to be able to relate or look up to riley/maya/elliot
I think everyone looked awesome at the reunion stuff, but am I the only one who doesn't even recognize Rachel? She looked so very different!
oh i know trust me she looks a lot different. let’s just say she’s had a lot of …work… done to her face and body. and honestly i think she looked better before.
Okay this may sound stupid but, wth is the pilot?
the pilot is an episode to any series which they show networks in the hopes of having the network pick up the series for a season.
so in boy meets world case, the first episode of the series was the pilot. you notice that there are some differences in set design (feeny’s classroom is flipped). this is because after they filmed that episode, they didn’t know if it would get picked up. when abc picked it up, usually a significant amount of time passes, so they changed some things (like the classroom and cory best friend plots)

“The creator [Michael Jacobs] was also nice enough to give ATX reporters one more bite of what to expect with the “Boy Meets World”/ “Girl Meets World” parallel when the [Girl Meets World] pilot airs. Jacobs explained that a set designer put a small rectangle black board on the chalk holder of Cory’s large classroom black board. The second, smaller black board has two words on it: “Do good.”

I have to say, I've always hated Feeny's speech about wasting technology. It's very short sighted and ignorant of history. Does he think that nobody had fun, even with new inventions, hundreds of years ago? They started printing pulp books almost right away, and even before that, hand-transcribed manuscripts are full of waggish notes from the monks. None of that took away from the advances made by people who just had fun in life. And he's very foolish to think that of his students.
